About the Author

Warren Publishing children's author, Kevin P. DuBois, grew up in the suburbs of Buffalo, New York. Thanks to his sixth-grade English teacher, he found a passion for writing. Kevin resides in Charlotte, North Carolina with his wife and two daughters and continues to pursue his passion for writing and storytelling.

DuBois was inspired to create a fun and teachable children's book series that is relatable to all kids.

“After our family learned of our youngest daughter’s Smith-Magenis Syndrome (SMS) diagnosis, I observed my oldest daughter’s innocent perspective as she continued to treat her sister with compassion, love and patience. She saw the SMS diagnosis through a different lens, and wanted nothing more than to love, play and help her sister.” says DuBois. 

The first book in the She's My Sister series, The Comfort Tree, celebrates the loving bond between two sisters and the wild and wonderous adventures on which they will travel. In the recently released second title, Ladybug Bay, the sisters are back and are closer than ever in a heartfelt and touching book for young readers. Ladybug Bay represents the vision of tranquility through the main character Nora’s eyes and provides the backdrop for this magical journey. 

The She's My Sister series is a combination of reality and imagination. Each story brings together the love between siblings, magical adventures and the challenges they experience on each journey. Throughout this whimsical series, the characters continue to lean on each other for laughter, fun, strength and support. DuBois anticipates more adventures will follow as his daughter’s relationship and understanding of these worlds continue to evolve.
